Is the lift chair safe?
Whether it is working at home, or home entertainment, everyone wants to carry out in the most comfortable way, but often the seat at home for a long time will inevitably feel pp pain, or lumbar discomfort, or even because of long-term sitting led to a series of lumbar spine diseases. So what can you do to avoid, or even alleviate, the discomfort of sitting? Many people will think of changing seats, and the chair lift can help us solve this problem to a certain extent, but is the chair lift safe?
What is a lift chair
A lift chair is kind of medical equipment that looks similar to a standard reclining chair. It’s also known as a power lift recliner, is a specialized type of chair designed to help individuals stand up or sit down with ease. A lift chair recliner can be controlled by a remote control or just the push of a button. It combines the features of a traditional recliner with a lifting mechanism, making it an ideal choice for those who face mobility challenges.
There are many good reasons to have a power assist recliner and then there's a couple of important considerations that may make you not appropriate for using a power assist.
Risks of Using a Lift Chair
So, you should consider these risks before buying a lift chair: Small children and pets may get trapped under the base of the chair when it's lowered or between the seat cushion and backrest while the chair is bought forward. Your legs may get trapped between the seat cushion and leg rest.
There are three areas of your lift chair that you need to pay particular attention to. They are the motorized lift unit, the backrest, and the footrest. All three of these are controlled electronically.
Don’t let water or liquids come into contact with any of these parts. It could be a shocking experience!
Make sure you always plug your lift chair into a proper three-pronged electrical outlet.
Don’t plug it into a two-pronged outlet or an adapter.
Don’t plug your chair into an extension cord. Not only can that cause problems with overheating, but it increases the risk of Granny getting tangled in the cable!

- Do you or your loved ones worry about you falling while transferring out of your standard armchair?
- Do you struggle with maintaining good posture in your standard armchair/recliner?
- Do you frequently have aches and pains after sitting in your standard armchair recliner?
